The difference between different water sterilization methods
Traditional methods of water sterilization generally include chlorination, ozone, and mercury lamp sterilization.
Chlorination sterilization is to achieve the purpose of disinfection by adding chlorine to water, which is generally used in water plants. Generally, chlorine will evaporate by heating, but some residual chlorine will inevitably be produced in water, which will lead to high incidences of esophageal cancer, gastric cancer, rectal cancer, bladder cancer, prostate cancer and other cancers.
Ozone sterilization: At room temperature, ozone gas is light purple, with a special smell gas, as the temperature decreases and the solubility increases, it has a strong bactericidal effect. However, when the concentration is too high, the decomposition time of ozone is prolonged, and the ozone that is not completely decomposed has a great odor, which is harmful to the human respiratory tract, nervous system and immune system.
Mercury lamp sterilization: Mercury lamp sterilization is the most widely used method of sterilization. But mercury is highly toxic and can cause serious consequences if it is not controlled properly, such as in Minamata disease in Japan in the 20th century.
